
DCI Indonesia and Salim Group, Inaugurate First Tier IV Data Center in Downtown Jakarta

Jakarta, December 18, 2023 - PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCI), the leading data center infrastructure service provider in Indonesia and Salim Group, inaugurated the E1 Data Center Facility, located at Ariobimo Sentral, South Jakarta. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Philipus Phiong - Senior Executive of Salim Group, Axton Salim - Executive Director of Salim Group, Toto Sugiri - President Director of DCI, and J.C Gani - Senior Advisor of DCI and the Management Team of PT Datacenter Indonesia Sukses Perkasa - Sutjahyo Budiman, Reginald Hamdani and Ricky Garyati.
The inauguration of the E1 facility is the commitment and collaboration between DCI Indonesia and Salim Group to provide edge data center services to industry players to support the digital economy growth in Indonesia. The E1 Data Center is part of the DCI Platform, with a power capacity of 18 MW of IT Load and equipped with 4,000 racks in an 11-floor structure covering an area of 30,000 m2. E1 becomes the first Tier-IV data center in downtown Jakarta - the highest classification in the data center industry.
"We are very proud to continue expanding the DCI Platform through the completion of the E1 data center," said Toto Sugiri, President Director, DCI Indonesia. "The E1 data center is a Tier IV classified facility, the highest in downtown Jakarta. E1 will provide reliable infrastructure facilities, with low latency, and the highest operational standards according to the Tier IV Gold Certification of Operational Sustainability (TCOS), where DCI is the first in Southeast Asia to receive this certification."
With the inauguration of E1, DCI is committed to meeting market needs in terms of cloud services, capital markets, AI, IoT, 5G connectivity, and more. Thus, the E1 data center can meet the demand for data center infrastructure close to users. Industry players can greatly benefit in terms of storage needs, processing with reliable operational quality, and data exchange with low latency and high performance. The strategic location of E1, close to IIX (Cyber 1), Open-IX (IDC Duren Tiga), and other exchange centers, allows for fast and efficient interconnectivity - improving network performance. The design of this data center also includes dual and diverse fiber routes, ensuring reliable and redundant connectivity.
Also present at the E1 data center inauguration was a representative from Salim Group, Axton Salim as the Executive Director of Salim Group. "This E1 data center building is a realization of the second collaboration between DCI and Salim Group to strengthen the existing DCI Platform in Cibitung and Karawang. We are proud to complete the E1 building on time and hope to soon assist businesses in Indonesia in accelerating the digitalization process in Indonesia / and to compete at the global level," said Axton Salim in his speech.
With the start of E1's operation on December 18, it not only strengthens the solutions offered by DCI but also shows the company's commitment to expanding the scalability of data center infrastructure services with the best operations. With the operation of E1, the DCI Platform now has 2 hyperscale data center campuses (in Cibitung and Karawang) and 1 edge data center, offering 3 diverse locations to comprehensively serve IT strategies for those requiring DC/DRC or different availability zones. Through this achievement, DCI is committed to strengthening the data center infrastructure ecosystem in Indonesia.
With a total capacity of 82 MW and the ability to expand up to 1,000 MW, DCI is determined to continue supporting the growth of cloud markets, digital platforms, companies, AI, and more, directly contributing to the sustainable development of digital infrastructure in Indonesia, and demonstrating Indonesia's capability and potential as a reliable regional data center hub.
