Jakarta - November 13, 2019 - PT DCI Indonesia (DCI), a local company providing data center services, announced the construction of a third data center building called JK3 as one of the largest local hyperscale data center facilities in Indonesia. JK3 has a critical IT load of 12 Megawatts (MW) and will start operating in early 2020. The construction of JK3 is one of DCI's commitments in finalizing the 8.5 hectares hyperscale data center campus facility, which is located in Cibitung, West Java, with a total capacity of more than 150 MW.

With the construction of JK3, we want to reinforce our commitment and seriousness in supporting the development of Indonesia's digital economy towards the coming of the Industrial Revolution 4.0."
In the next few years, Indonesia will experience a surge of demand for hyperscale data center due to the coming of the industrial revolution 4.0. Digital transformation such as Cloud Computing, Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT) will require large-scale data processing. Hence, reliable, scalable, and high security data centers are required.
According to the study conducted by Frost & Sullivan, Indonesia’s Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) for data center service market revenue will reach up to 35% from the year of 2015 to 2022. While based on the data released by CBRE, which is a global real estate and investment company, the total capacity of Indonesia's data center, up to Q1 2019, reaches 50.2 MW and it is estimated that in 2021 there will be an additional capacity of 70 MW. Hendra Suryakusuma as President of IDPRO (Indonesian Data Center Association) stated, "In relevance to this information, we welcome DCI's commitment, as a local data center provider to be able to meet the needs of data centers in Indonesia in the next few years."
The rapid growth of startup companies in Indonesia, which is represented by 5 unicorn companies, as well as seeing the potential for rapid digital economic growth, which is estimated to be at 133 billion US dollars in 2025 (Google, Temasek and Bain & research Company in the e-Conomy SEA 2019 report), sealed the foundation that Cloud Computing is a necessity for the sustainability of startup businesses.

DCI is committed to supporting the development of the digital economy in Indonesia by establishing a digital ecosystem within the data center with low latency and cost efficiency, required by Cloud Service Providers, e-Commerce, Financial Institutions, Network Service Providers, and Enterprises. At present, DCI operates two data center buildings, JK1 with a capacity of 3 MW and JK2 with a capacity of 7 MW. In early 2020, DCI will begin the operation of JK3 with a capacity of 12 MW.

Indonesia dalam beberapa tahun kedepan akan mengalami lonjakan permintaan terhadap kebutuhan hyperscale data center khususnya menjelang revolusi industri 4.0. Transformasi teknologi digital seperti Cloud Computing, Big Data dan Internet of Things (IoT) akan menuntut pengolahan data berskala besar, sehingga dibutuhkan fasilitas data center yang reliable, scalable, dan secure.


Frost & Sullivan memprediksi pertumbuhan majemuk tahunan (CAGR) untuk pendapatan pasar layanan data center dari tahun 2015 hingga 2022 mencapai 35%. Sementara berdasarkan data CBRE yang merupakan perusahaan real estate dan investment global, total kapasitas keseluruhan data center Indonesia hingga Q1 2019 mencapai 50,2 MW dan diprediksi pada tahun 2021 akan terdapat penambahan kapasitas sebesar 70 MW. Hendra Suryakusuma selaku President IDPRO (Asosiasi Data Center Indonesia) mengatakan, "Menyambung data ini, kami menyambut baik komitmen DCI sebagai penyedia data center lokal yang mampu memenuhi kebutuhan data center di Indonesia dalam beberapa tahun kedepan."
Melonjaknya pertumbuhan perusahaan startup di Indonesia, yang ditandai dengan 5 perusahaan unicorn hingga akhir 2019, serta melihat potensi pertumbuhan ekonomi digital yang tergolong pesat, yang diprediksi akan menjadi 133 miliar dollar AS di tahun 2025 (riset Google, Temasek dan Bain & Company dalam laporan e-Conomy SEA 2019), menjadi sebuah legitimasi bahwa kebutuhan cloud adalah suatu keniscayaan bagi keberlangsungan bisnis startup.
