Jakarta, Indonesia - May 30, 2023 - PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCI) and PT Datacenter Indonesia Sukses Perkasa (DISP), hosted a topping off event for its first Edge Data Facility, E1, located in Ariobimo Sentral, South Jakarta. DISP is a partner member of DCI Platform.
The topping off event for E1 signifies the successful completion of the data center building construction, which demonstrates the commitment and collaboration between DCI Indonesia and Salim Group in providing edge data center services to industry players and support the growth of the digital economy in Indonesia. The E1 Data Center will have an IT power capacity of 18 MW across 4,000 racks in an 11-floor structure and total building area of 30,000 m2. E1 will also be the first Tier-IV data center in downtown Jakarta, scheduled to be operational by the end of 2023.
"We are proud to continue expanding the DCI Platform through the completion of the E1 Data Center construction," said J.C Gani, Senior Advisor, PT DCI Indonesia Tbk. "E1 is a Tier-IV data center, the first of its kind in downtown Jakarta. E1 will provide reliable, secure, and low-latency infrastructure facilities to meet the evolving digitization needs of our clients."
The E1 data center features diverse dual-fiber routes to ensure reliable and redundant connectivity. Moreover, its strategic location near IIX (Cyber 1) and Open-IX (IDC Duren Tiga) enables fast and efficient interconnections, enhancing network performance.
In today's era of digital advancements, industry players rely on cloud services, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies to remain competitive in the market. The presence of the E1 data center caters to the demand for data center infrastructure that is close to the users. Industry players will greatly benefit from its reliable operational quality for storage, processing, low-latency data exchange, and high performance.
Also present at the Topping Off event for the E1 data center was Reginald Hamdani, Salim Group Representative. He stated, "The construction of this data center building is the realization of the successful collaboration between DCI and Salim Group in advancing digitization in Indonesia by being closer to the users. Having a data center in the downtown area is expected to provide more adequate services in terms of low latency and connectivity."
With the E1 data center scheduled to be operational by the end of the year, DCI Platform will have two hyperscale data centers and one edge data center, with a total potential power capacity of up to 918 MW. E1 reached the completion of the topping off phase in approximately five months, which demonstrates the successful collaboration capability to accelerate the expansion of the DCI Platform. DCI is committed to scale up its data center infrastructure services with world-class operations through the construction of more data centers in the future, including in downtown areas.
